Ecolovies ~ Cardboard Castle!

Part of the joy of moving with kids is letting them cut up all the wonderfully ready-to-be-recycled cardboard right???

Ever since I saw Made By K's cardboard castle, I have wanted to build one with the kiddos. We have SO much cardboard running around this place that it was amazing we hadn't thought of it before. So a couple boxes and a set of toddler crayons later, we had this beauty to call our own in our livingroom this last weekend, morgage free.

Logan loved the idea of being able to color on the castle. He happily ran around drawing where everyone else was... which made my little girl not so happy.

After I explained to her that it didn't have to be perfect, then both the older kids seemed ok with letting Logan in on the fun.

He sure was proud of himself. :)

The kids spent all evening in laying in the castle listening to a story on CD. Doesn't get much better than that.

Def one of my girls' favorite things to do. A string of christmas lights adds a wonderful touch too. :)

What a great idea! We have a bunch of boxes left over from moving this week. You've inspired us to use them to make a castle. :)

Awesome!! A few years back, we had a homemade cardboard house that lived in our living room for over a year! Complete with mail slot, dutch door and chimney! Too much fun!

We haven't gotten too crazy yet with windows and such, but the kids are enjoying it anyway. Today there is all my daughters doll house stuff in there and they are making a whole little village inside the castle walls. :) Kids are so wonderfully inventive with this type of thing!

How fun to find a link to me here. And when I popped over, I saw photos of you, a saw and some wood. Will have to see if i can find more about that. (I love working with wood but most other moms I know just look at me funny...)

P.S. Am not yet familiar with KT Tunstall but am loving her song on your playlist...

how FUN!!! cardboard boxes can keep a kiddo happy and entertained for hours :) we had a nice sturdy box from a new car seat purchase last year. we made a puppet theater out of it :) after a few months it finally ripped though... but it sure was FuN while it lasted!

Ooooo Erika, that is a great idea! The Sears Outlet said that when ever there are boxes back by there recycle bin we could take them. I plan on going back soon to pick up some of those big ones and make some fun stuff out of them. :)
